Sports Editor Red Lion Girls Tennis is a very young team. So young in fact that half the girls on varsity have never started before. “I specifically look for hard work, maximum effort, and players who are not complacent. I want to see that they are willing to learn and listen to the advice and strategies that I give them,” Coach Ryan Small said. The team has a lot of freshmen, with a lot of potential. They finished their regular season with a record of 5-7. By Brody Patmore
Sports Editor The Red Lion field hockey team has been very strong in the past few years. Finishing last season with a record of 11-6 proved they’re by no means any slouch in York’s YAIAA Division I. The team took some big hits losing great players from last season including Emily Gillmen, Kynslee Shepard, Amy Maciejewski, Jackie Golden, and two goalies, some of whom won awards for their great play. For the most part these were the leaders of the team, and they’ll be hard to replace. By Brody Patmore
Sports Editor The Red Lion Area Senior High School girls volleyball team is gearing up for a new season. With the impressive accomplishments last year which included winning both the county and district tournaments and qualifying, finishing 8 for the state tournament it won’t be easy to repeat such a historical run. The team lost some key pieces from the team last year who helped make the year so successful. Players like Lauren Enflield, Logan Dontell, and Lindsey Blevins will be greatly missed and hard to replace. By Derek Etter
